This wine is fresh fruit forward with the aromas and flavors of pineapple and lemons. Well balanced with crisp acidity, this Chardonnay has been crafted to be enjoyed now and should continue to develop in the bottle for 3 to 5 years.
Tasting Notes and Technical Information
After committing all our 2021 Beckstoffer Carneros Lake Vineyard grapes to that bottling, we are back with a Carneros version from the 2022 vintage. The 2022 Salexis Carneros Chardonnay was made from Napa Valley Carneros fruit grown by Beckstoffer Vineyard and is ready for release.
Keeping to our previous practices in making this wine, the juice was barrel fermented in 33% new French oak with the balance being once used barrels and under went malolactic fermentation, both with native yeast and bacteria. After the fermentations were completed, the wine was aged on the lees for 1 month.
